This year has been an important one for our club, and it has been so in several regards:
The loan payment calculator good weather this summer, coupled to the large number of activities and the enthusiastic participation of the members, led to a very good season.
It has been a record year for our Sea School, more than 2000 children attended the sailing school alone, while the Club's Racing Team now numbers more than 80, making it the third-biggest club in Catalonia. Our racing results have been among the best in recent years: the Laser Radial champion of Catalonia, runner-up in the J80 Catalan Cup, Spanish Formula 18 championship in a Spanish championship in Optimist for teams.
The Nautical Academy, the Club for the youngsters and the cruise school, have been consolidated as an activity and are already a reference point in the area.
Participation in competitions organised by the club yielded important figures, not actually record ones, albeit much higher than those currently achieved by other clubs our size. Two championships of Catalonia, in 420 and Optimist for teams, two Optimist and Laser N2 competitions, the traditional cruiser races: Vent de Dalt, Roques and Singladuras. A total of more than 600 yachtsmen have participated in competitions organised by the club.
New types of Fishing competitions. The collaboration with Azti-Tecnalis and the ACPR that allowed us to hold the fish tagging competitions again, outings with the IMOCA 60 of the Fundación para la Navegación Oceánica de Barcelona (Foundation for Ocean Sailing of Barcelona), the windsurfing centre on the beach of St. Horta Maria, the Barlovento barbecues and many other events made for an intense sports and social activity-packed year.
This search engine optimization all comes as the consolidation of an intensely planned and elaborate sports model, involving a major effort in human and material resources.
The excellent participation by the members was a just reward for the team's hard work.
Our professional activities, the boat show, the Beneteau Sea Trials Festival and the expansion of the club's charter and fishing services are all beginning to define us as an organisation with a very comprehensive offer.
This year has also been important in terms of our relationship with the administration.
With the Town Council, the now traditional sailing in schools agreement, into its fourth edition, is complemented this year by the recovery of the Teresa vessel.
I am convinced that this will be a landmark in the recognition of nautical sports in Cambrils.
With Ports de la Generalitat, after years of work and negotiations, the club has been awarded the concession for the management and operation of the dry dock. After the first year of management the experience is proving to be very positive in several ways:
* Forecasts in terms of volume of activity and income are being met.
* The relationship with fishermen, boat companies and the Port administration has improved greatly and is direct, consistent and transparent.
* As members, we enjoy better services and a space which, when major events are held, like the ones we organise in autumn, prevent our club from collapsing.
It is undoubtedly a challenge to be tackled in the coming years. Next season we will have a new petrol berth and a dry dock that will allow us to host a series of vessels for which until now we lacked space.
Finally, refused credit in my opinion, another important success story is the support given by our members to these new projects, the dry dock project and the refurbishing and expansion of our social facility, including the relocation of the restaurant to make better use of existing space.
All this in a difficult economic context, but one in which our Club continues to enjoy good economic, sporting and social health.
Once york hotels again, I would like to thank you all for your participation.
